3 Flowers

The Iceplant, Carpobrotus Edulis, is not native to California. It was introduced from South Africa in the early 1900s to stabilize rough ground. It is now considered an invasive pest, and Park Service rangers are tasked with destroying it before it smothers weaker native plant communities. It seems to be doing very well for itself, and puts on a spectacular flower show.
